How to Decorate the TV Wall in Your Little Elm Home

Buyers of new homes in Little Elm often decide to mount a flat screen TV on the wall of their living room. If you decide to follow this trend, you’ll need to think about how to decorate the wall around your TV. The trick is making sure that your TV wall décor compliments things, rather than fading into the background or becoming too dominant. Here are few ideas to consider.

Go Plain – You could just keep things basic and only have the TV on the wall. This setup works well if you also have a speaker system. Designers recommend mounting everything on the wall with chrome finishings, and then consider having a single color on the wall to make the TV really stand out.

Go Floral – Make your TV wall a feature of the room by using a large floral pattern wallpaper behind the set, while keeping the other walls in the room plain. Tip: Use dark wallpaper that offers a contrast with the other walls. Also consider using a lighter color wallpaper if the TV mounts are dark or vice versa.

Create a Border – You can add some depth to the wall by using color to add a border around the TV. For instance, a dark colored border paired with a lighter color on the rest of the wall will give some extra perspective and make the wall visually interesting.

Create an Art Gallery – Another way to make your wall appealing is to create an art gallery around the TV. Hang three or four small works of art on either side of the TV, with two or three larger works above the set. There’s no limit to the types of paintings or family portraits to display, so just use your imagination and experiment until you’re satisfied with the look. You could even place a large frame around the TV itself to make it appear to be a piece of art too!

Timely Beauty – Do you love clocks? If so, you could display several varieties of wall clocks around your TV to create a timely, unique look.

Shelve it – Hang a shelf above the TV to display candles, photos, books, or other decorative objects. You could also surround the TV with bookcases to display your reading material.
