Fun Ways to Escape the Summer Heat in Frisco
We love our Frisco homes, but when the summer heat is on full blast we just want to get out and find a fun place to cool off. Luckily Frisco has plenty of places to take a dip or enjoy a cool treat!
Frisco Water Park
The water park at Frisco Athletic Center offers a range of aquatic experiences from a relaxing lagoon and lazy river to exciting slides and spray features. It even has an in-pool playground called The Fort, where kids can have water dumped on them from a giant bucket or play in dozens of sprays. The Preston Plunge is a 45-foot slide with multiple tubes. Indoor pools are also available for small children and those who want to swim laps.
Splash Pads
Frisco has three public splash pads open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through September 30. Enjoy the sprays and splashes at Frisco Commons Park, J.R. Newman Park and Shepherd’s Glen Park. A pavilion is available at each splash pad for parents to relax or have a picnic.
Lazy River at Riders Field
What could be better for summer sports fans than relaxing in a lazy river while watching a Frisco RoughRiders baseball game? The one-of-a-kind pool along the right-field wall has a great view of the ball field. Purchase designated tickets to access the pool.
Omni PGA Pools
For something a little more swanky, head to the Omni PGA for a choice of four pool experiences. Adults can chill out in the rooftop infinity pool on the 6th floor, while the two resort-style pools are open to all ages. There’s also a spa pool, splash pad and hot tubs. Day passes and cabana rentals for non-guests are available on a limited basis.
Frozen Treats
Want to cool off with a frozen treat? Visit the Cow Tipping Creamery at The Star for soft-serve ice cream. If you’re looking for frozen yogurt or a smoothie, try Annie’s Sweets & Treats on FM423 or University Drive. If you’re craving something icier, head to the Frisco Snow Cone Lady on Elm Street.
Landon’s communities in Frisco have “cool” amenities of their own! Lexington Frisco features a resort-style pool with tanning ledges, cabanas and splash pad. Fields has a double pool with shaded seating areas and clubhouse. When you live in one of our communities, a luxurious pool experience is right in your own neighborhood!
