Celebrate Independence Day at the Frisco Freedom Fest

Residents of new homes in Frisco TX can celebrate Independence Day in style at the annual Frisco Freedom Fest. The two-day festival will be held Wednesday, July 3 and Thursday, July 4 at Simpson Plaza in Frisco.

The fun begins on Wednesday evening with a cornhole tournament at 6 pm in the plaza. Then at 7:30, short-legged canines will line up for the Dachshund Dash, followed by the Hotter ‘n Firecrackers 5K & Glow Run at 9 pm. Participants will wear flashing LED lights and neon clothing to light up the night as they race to the sounds of electronic music.

On Independence Day the festivities kick off at 4 pm with the Party in the Plaza featuring dancing in the streets and fun activities for all ages. Local entertainers will perform on the community stage. Amusements and games will include a rock climbing wall, hamster ball races, bungees, bounce houses, a dunk tank, mini train ride and much more. An exhibit of police and fire equipment will offer people a chance to meet their “hometown heroes” from local emergency services. Clowns from the Frisco Fire Safety Town will be on hand to entertain visitors.

Throughout the event, food concessions will offer a “Taste of Frisco” from area restaurants such as Fletcher’s Corn Dogs, Dippin’ Dots, Rudy’s BBQ and more. The Vendor Village will have booths from local businesses and community organizations.

At 8 pm, FC Dallas will play DC United in a major league soccer game across the street at Toyota Stadium. At the end of the game, everyone can enjoy the highlight of the evening, a

20-minute fireworks finale. The show is one of the largest in the region and will cap off the event in grand style.
