TheCoderSchool Teaches Frisco Kids How to Create Games & Apps
Would you like to give your child an opportunity to foster their creativity while enhancing their technology skills? When you buy one of the new Frisco TX homes, you can do just that by sending your child to theCoderSchool. This innovative school teaches kids ages 8-18 how to code in order to create apps and games.
TheCoderSchool was founded in Silicon Valley and has expanded to Frisco because of the community’s family-friendly feel. “Frisco is booming! But what’s so great about all the expansion is that it still houses a close community environment,” said General Manager Victoria George in an interview for Lifestyle Frisco. “We want the kids to feel at ease with their friends, have fun and learn at the same time.”
There are a number of different programs available for kids to participate in at theCoderSchool. Code Class provides a more traditional learning environment where instructors teach coding by breaking down a game into its component parts. Students then have an opportunity to build, understand and embellish the game as they go.
Code Coaching offers one-hour semi-private lessons once a week with two students paired with one instructor. The individual attention allows kids to dig deep and learn real coding constructs. At the same time, two students of similar level and age can play off each other and show off to each other for a more social experience.
Finally, the App Team is theCoderSchool’s premium program that features one hour a week of Code Coaching along with an hour group session where students can polish their presentations. The school conducts a Coder Fair every few months so kids can show off their amazing apps.
TheCoderSchool also plans to host several summer camps that will let kids design and build a functioning app or game from scratch to show off to their friends and family.
