Plan to Attend Allen’s Happy Fall Fest
Now that September is here, homes in Allen TX will soon be decorated with unique items from the city’s annual Happy Fall Fest. One of the most popular events in Allen, the Happy Fall Fest takes place on Saturday, September 15 from 9 am to 3 pm. The free event will be held at the Allen Senior Recreation Center on St. Mary Drive.
A variety of activities and displays will assure there’s something that appeals to everyone. The indoor gift and craft market will feature more than 50 vendors from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. They’ll offer unique handmade crafts such as fall wreaths, artwork, decorative ceramics, dried flowers, quilts and jewelry.
Classic cars and trucks will be on display in the recreation center parking lot from 10 am to 2 pm. You’ll see souped-up roadsters, muscle cars and more. The car show is sponsored by the Morning Maniacs Car Club.
Kids will enjoy balloon artistry and face painting. A DJ will provide music throughout the day.
Lunch food will be available for purchase during the festival. Offerings will include sandwiches from Texas Roadhouse, ice cream treats and more.
Members of the Allen Heritage Guild will host tours of Heritage Village, just across the street from the recreation center. Several of the town’s oldest buildings were relocated to the site to recreate the feel of the original village of Allen. Heritage Village is centered around the Prairie-style First Christian Church and also includes St. Mary Baptist Church and a restored Craftsman bungalow.
The Happy Fall Fest is just one of the many events that make Allen a popular suburb of Dallas-Fort Worth.
