The Swedish furniture retailer is favored for its modern and functional designs along with the customer experience that their stores provide. The new 289,000 square foot IKEA store is a perfect complement to the growing number of new homes in the Dallas area.

The store will offer over 10,000 items and showcase model home interiors alongside a variety of room settings that help you create the home you’ve always wanted. These products will be similar to those offered in IKEA’s Frisco location.

Customers will have access to IKEA’s dining and children’s play areas, making it the convenient shopping experience for which the retailer has become known. The Grand Prairie IKEA will also generate its own power as part of the company’s commitment to the use of renewable energy.

The new store’s location in Grand Prairie is expected to reduce crowding at the Frisco location and improve the shopping experience for local customers. Unlike the Frisco location, the Grand Prairie IKEA will be one story. Although, IKEA’s property manager has said that the two locations would be roughly the same size if the elevators, escalators and staircases were removed from the Frisco store.

A proposal has been submitted to open another IKEA near Fort Worth, in 2019. If green lighted, it would make the DFW region one of three areas in the country, along with Los Angeles and New York/New Jersey, to have more than two IKEA locations.
