Little Elm Named One of the Top Cities to Live in America

NerdWallet.com, an online resource for consumer financial education, ranked Little Elm as the 24th best city in the U.S. and 7th best in Texas for raising a family. NerdWallet had already recognized Little Elm as being one of the safest cities in Texas and as being one of the fastest-growing boroughs in the metroplex.
NerdWallet analyzed more than 1,000 U.S. cities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000 and based its rankings on income and affordability, prosperity and growth, and family-friendliness. Little Elm’s final score was 62.81.
Maggie Clark, an analyst for NerdWallet, said, “We always look and make sure the town’s economy can support a growing population, and in Little Elm’s case, there seems to be a very low cost of living to go along with the population growth.” Clark added, “What set Little Elm apart was the massive growth rate.”

Little Elm Town Manager Matt Mueller noted that Little Elm had more home-starts in 2014 than any city in the region, behind only Frisco and McKinney.
