Unique Bloomingdale’s Arrives in Frisco
Good news for Bloomingdale’s fans who live in Frisco new home communities: A new store is coming that will have merchandise curated especially for local residents. Bloomie’s is the first luxury store to commit to the Fields West development.
Bloomie’s is a relatively new concept for Bloomingdale’s, which already has existing outlet stores in Grand Prairie and Dallas. This will be the first Bloomie’s to open in Texas and the only one planned for North Texas. There are four others in the United States.
The Bloomie’s concept
Bloomie’s offers the upscale merchandise that Bloomingdale’s is known for, but in a smaller, more casual boutique-like setting. The new format is meant to entice online shoppers and existing fans to come out and visit the physical stores, where they can browse and see the offerings firsthand.
As it does in other areas, the Frisco Bloomie’s will carry merchandise curated for the tastes and buying habits of local residents. The chain’s executives determined that Frisco has a strong base of existing customers who are likely to patronize a brick and mortar location.
Trend toward smaller stores
Bloomie’s is following a trend toward smaller offshoots of retail giants. Nordstrom, Macy’s (Bloomingdale’s parent company), Trader Joe’s and Kohl’s have all launched a smaller-store concept that focuses on curated merchandise and more personalized service. The first Bloomie’s opened in 2021 in Fairfax, VA.
Fields West
The Frisco Bloomie’s store will be located in Fields West, a 360,000 square foot high-end shopping and dining destination. Other retailers planned for the development include Arhaus, Crate & Barrel, Sephora, Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma. Restaurants and cafes on tap range from Starbucks to Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar and Mastro’s Steakhouse.
The Frisco Bloomie’s is set to open in late 2027.
